Lester Decker

Lester G. Decker age 60, of Grandville, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Lacks Cancer Center, after a hard fought battle with Leukemia. Lester was a graduate of Wayland High school. He was retired from Canteen Services, and was an avid accomplished fisherman, NASCAR, Tigers and Lions fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Mae (Varnau) Decker; brothers and sister-in-laws, Jim & Sandy Decker, and Louis "Sonny" & Virginia Schuh Jr.; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" & Noel (Schuh) Maxson; He is survived and will be deeply missed by his sisters, Shirley & Marvin (Schuh) Bruursema, and GeorgAnn & Michael (Decker) Johnson; special friends, Laura Ansara and Shirley Ansara; along with many nieces and nephews who loved Uncle "Bink"; cousins and close friends. A special Thank You to Dr. L.Polavaram, very special nurses and staff at Lacks Cancer Center for his total care. A committal service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9th at Dorr Cemetery, 1715 142nd. Ave., Dorr with a luncheon to follow at American Legion post 127, 4310 18th St., Dorr.
