Leslie Ann Dwyer, age 62, of Lansing, passed away Monday evening, June 13, 2022 at her home under the loving care of her family and Sparrow Home Hospice. The daughter of Joseph Richard & Elizabeth Ann (Zolinski) Walczak, she was born on August 1, 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Lansing Community College. Leslie, through the course of her career life, was involved in office management, accounting, retail operations, and house cleaning.
Monday evening
On November 11, 2000, she married Thomas Edward Dwyer and together they enjoyed almost twenty-one years of marriage until Tom passed away just a year ago on June 14, 2021. Leslie was Tom's caretaker as he battled cancer for nearly 10 years.
A devoted wife and mother, Leslie enjoyed her cooking and shopping. Leslie's biggest joy was spent in keeping up with her 20+ grandchildren. Her dogs were a major part of her life and giving them the best care possible brought her lots of happiness. Leslie could never leave the house without looking her Sunday best, she was a real lady. Her attention to detail and the needs of others were always before herself.
Surviving are her children, Joseph Martin of Williamston, Michele Martin of Lansing, Samuel Smith of Dewitt, Shelly & Rick Deneau of Ionia, Jaimie & Bryce Litwiller of Rainbow Lake, Jinny & Paul Carson of Lansing, and Alice & Santiago Lopez of Hanover; grandchildren, Leah, Esther, Ruth, Anna, Ezra, Emma, Abigail, Joseph, Jesse, Wesley, Adelaide, Mariah, Carter, Samuel, Lily, Genevieve, Georgia, Grant, Ryan, Aliana, and Penelope; great-grandchild, Madison; a brother, Duane Walczak of Bloomfield Hills; a sister, Melissa Moryc of Highland; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Beth Haven Baptist Church, 1158 W. Carson City Road (M-57), Sheridan, where funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday. The Rev. Kevin Crowell, pastor of Beth Haven Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
