Leslie Calkins

Mr. Leslie Charles Calkins, age 88, went to be with his Lord on Jan. 06, 2015.He was born on May 03, 1926 in Carlisle, IA to Raymond and Lela (Houseman) Calkins.He married Mary Ann Pergande on March 01, 1953 in Lu Verne, IA. She preceded him in death on July 12, 1997. He worked for the City of Grand Haven for 22 years. He is survived by three children: Linda Calkins, Beverly (Raymond) Lewis and LeRoy (Julie) Calkins; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grand children with 2 more on the way and 3 great-great-grand children. He is also survived by one sister, Bonnie Dubson. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. A funeral service and celebration of life will be at 2 pm Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at Grace Lutheran Church, 8636 S. M37, Baldwin, MI 49304. The Rev, Daniel Fienen officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Grace Lutheran Church. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
