Leroy Frank Lavallee, age 59, of Sidney, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2010 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The son of Frank & Ruby (Henry) Lavallee, he was born on June 15, 1951 in Greenville.
For most of his life Leroy worked as a mechanic at various farm equipment dealers including McCormicks Equipment, Snyders Case/Alto Farm Center, Hydes Equipment, and Bruce Christensen Farms. On August 3, 1996, at his home in Sidney, he married the former Anne Marie Weaver. A dedicated family man, Leroy found his greatest joy in time spent with his family especially his grandchildren and nephews. He also enjoyed International Harvester tractors, collecting Cub Cadets, and wrenching on anything mechanical.
Surviving are his wife, Anne Lavallee of Sidney; a daughter, Holly DeMott and Scott Vauter of Fenton; his sons, Adam & Candy Lavallee of Sheridan, William & Eileen Hodges of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Derek DeMott of Flint, and Kyle DeMott of Stanton; his grandchildren, Daniel Lavallee, Seth Lavallee, Gage Leroy Lavallee, Trinity Vauter, and Makayla DeMott; a sister, Laura & Mike Griffin of Belding; and a special nephew, Nathan & Tashia Lavallee of Saranac.
Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and a private family viewing was held Thursday afternoon at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Greenville. Instead of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
