Leonard Northrop

Leonard Northrop, age 72, of Wayland, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, June 23, 2017. The son of Howard & Mary Jane (Kingman) Northrop, he was born on February 19, 1945 in Shelbyville. Leonard was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Jeannette of 46 years. He was always making people laugh, there was never a dull moment when he was around, his smile and laughter was contagious. He would do anything for his family and friends. He loved telling his children stories of his childhood, watching his grand kids grow, and watching old western t.v shows. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clark (Bev), Forrest, and Robert; and sister, Donna. Surviving are his wife, Jeannette; three children, Jon, Becky (Logan) DeKoning and Jeremy Northrop; siblings, Ryal, Roxanne Dandrow, Marsha (Bill) Petersen, and Stan (Kris) Northrop; five grand kids, Braden, Julie, Nicholas, Quinten, and Emily; along with many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday July 8, 2017 at Gun Lake Community Church, 12200 West M-179 Hwy, Wayland, with a light luncheon to follow.
