Lee De Voss

Lee R. De Voss, age 87, of Holland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. He was born on May 10, 1932, in Flint, Michigan, to the late George and Sarah (Field) De Voss. Lee proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan College with the class of 1957. Lee married Shirley Kalajian on August 1, 1987, at St. John's Armenian Church in Southfield, Michigan. Together they loved traveling, sailing, listening to music, playing tennis, and spending time with their dear friends. Lee also enjoyed skiing and was a skilled wood worker and water color painter. Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Shirley; son, Darby (Lisa) De Voss; brother-in-law, Richard (Virginia) Kalajian; sister-in-law, Rosemarie Kalajian; special niece, Renee Kalajian; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Robin; and his siblings. Gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 480 152nd Ave, Holland, MI 49424, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the memorial mass at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Michael Cilibraise officiating and military honors to follow. Shirley would like to extend a special thank you to The Day Center of Evergreen Commons, Grace of Douglas, and Kindred Hospice for all of the help, care, and compassion shown to her and Lee throughout this difficult time. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, MI, exclusive providers of Veterans Funeral Care.
