Laymond Anderson Sr

Laymond Anderson Sr., also known as "Papa Smurf," was born June 17, 1973, in Benton Harbor, MI, to Betty Ann Anderson. He passed away July 9, 2026, at home in Grand Rapids, MI.

Laymond was loved by everyone and was known for the smile he kept on his face and brought to those around him. He was a "dancing machine" who was always in great spirits, loved his family, music, and playing spades. He was a father figure and uncle to everyone.

He leaves behind three children: Kadejah, Laymond Jr., and Laynisha Anderson; four grandchildren: Laymond Anderson III, Zayla Anderson, Javeon Walker Jr., and Mi’Leah Anderson; one sister, Tiajuana Anderson; and two brothers, Roy and Calvin Anderson; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a great friend, William Hicks.

Laymond is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Anderson; his oldest brother, Dwight Anderson; his youngest brother, Chester Anderson; his son, Demetrious Anderson; and his cousin, Tammy Davis.
