Laverne Robert Cook, age 77, of Comstock Park, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at his home. The son of Harry & Martha Cook, he was born on Sept. 29, 1934 in Zeeland and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Survivors include his children, Greg Cook, Robert Cook, and Liz Cook. Committal services, with full military honors rendered by the U.S. Marine Corps, are at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements were entrusted to the Michigan Cremation Company, honored providers of Veterans Funeral Care.
