Laura Jean Rupert (née Larabee), 71, of Zeeland, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026. Born on May 26, 1955, in Muskegon, Michigan, Laura lived a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
Laura was the beloved mother of Christina and Amanda Rupert and the proud grandmother of Elizabeth Rupert. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister Betty Goings, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl Larabee Sr. and Naomi Larabee, her daughter Tammy Larabee, and other loved ones who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.
Laura found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for fishing and delighted in collecting dolphins and dolls. Her love for the outdoors often led her to enjoy walks and attend festivals like Moose Fest. A frequent visitor to Walmart and an enthusiastic traveler to Nashville, Tennessee, Laura embraced every opportunity to explore and connect with others. Her faith was an important part of her life; she was a devoted member of First Wesleyan Church.
Family gatherings were among Laura's greatest joys. Known for her delicious baked beans and love of chicken, she brought warmth and comfort to those around her through both her cooking and her presence. Music also held a special place in Laura’s heart—she was an avid fan of George Strait.
Laura’s adventurous spirit extended even to the everyday; she enjoyed riding city buses as a way to experience the world around her. Her vibrant personality left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
May Laura’s memory bring comfort to those who loved her deeply. She will be greatly missed but fondly remembered for the joy she brought into so many lives. A Memorial Service will be held on July 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church 1040 E. Forest Ave.
