Larry Prince

Mr. Larry Lee Prince, age 60, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday evening, September 8, 2015, at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. He was born in Fremont, MI on January 28, 1955, to Marjorie "Marge" L. (Witteveen) & Cornelius "Kelly" Prince and graduated from Fremont High School. He was a highly-decorated U.S. Army Sergeant in Operation Desert Storm and after his retirement in 1994 he enjoyed many years living, working and volunteering at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Surviving by his aunt, Lois Jordan of Fremont; uncle, Chuck (Carol) Witteveen of Grand Rapids; two brothers, Doug (Pat) Prince of Muskegon, and Greg Prince of Sparta; as well as several nieces and nephews; many cousins; numerous friends at GRHV; and his best friend John Lapsiuk. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the Chapel at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans with an hour visitation prior to the service at Noon with Chaplain Bob Dennis officiating. Larry will be laid to rest in the cemetery at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Donations can be made to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans or to the Wounded Warrior Project. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
