Mr. Larry Allen Kingsley, 70, of Lansing and Mecosta, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, March 8, 2006 at his sisters home in Lansing. The son of Allen John & Pauline (Hines) Kingsley, he was born on June 30, 1935 in Grand Ledge. After graduating high school, Larry learned the trade of a tinsmith and began a career as a union sheet metal worker. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Kingsley in 1995; two sisters, Sue Brigham, and Linda Sutton; and by his wife, Shirley (Wixon) Kingsley in October of 2004.
Surviving are two children, Kirk & Deborah Kingsley and Dawn Wells; a step-son, Lynn Sheltrown; three sisters, Beatrice Oatten, Polly Surber, and Donna Alberts; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Stanwood. Instead of flowers, Larry would have preferred contributions in his memory to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 4360, 7230 Stanwood Drive, Stanwood, MI 49346.
