Larry Lee King, age 79, of Grandville, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. He was born in Jackson, MI, on September 26, 1941, to the late John King Sr. and Lucille (Fox) King. He is survived by his sons, Jeff King, Danny King, Timothy King, Larry King Jr.; daughter, Sarah King; step-children, Maria (Mark) Gillette, Lyle Johnson, Teresa (Matthew) Stephens, George (Kristina) Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Anne (Johnson) Prather; brothers, John King Jr., Kenneth King, Ronald King; grandchildren, Delaine King, Brittani King, Matt King, Jacob King, plus 11 more; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brother, Richard King. Larry was the middle child of 5 boys growing up. He was a proud father, step-father, grand father, and great-grand father. His faith and love for Jesus was evident in his life, just before he passed away, he told his hospice nurse he "just wanted to be with Jesus". Sports was another passion of Larry's, he was a big fan of basketball and football, his fondness of basketball started early on when he played for his high school basketball team. Larry was an avid University of Michigan fan, he was known to love his team and wore Michigan apparel with pride. Larry worked 30 years for Diecast Corporation in Jackson MI, from 1964-1995. After retirement, Larry met Patricia Johnson and they were married for a few years, where they lived together in Grandville and Omer, MI, until divorce. After their divorce Larry still helped Patricia as her vision and health failed. He moved back to Grandville, MI so he could continue to help Pat when she moved into Brookcrest Nursing Home. The family would like to thank Brookcrest Nursing Home and Emmanuel Hospice for their support and care. Larry will be laid to rest in Omer, MI at the Evergreen Cemetery on May 22, 2021 at 11:00am. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 616-452-3006.
