Larry Joe Burns

Larry Joe Burns, age 82, of Ortonville, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. The son of Herbert Jay & Inez May (Sanford) Burns, he was born on October 31, 1937, in Newberry. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Dathel) Burns; daughters, Cheryl Palmer, Cathy (Mark) Mason; sons, Ryan (Susan) Burns and Tom (Stacey) Burns; eight grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. Larry served in the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army National Guard. He retired from General Motors in 1986. Larry was loved by everyone that met him and will be missed by many. Committal services, with military honors rendered by the United States Marine Corps, are at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2020 Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
