Larry Babcock

Larry F. Babcock, age 80, of Kent City, passed way on Monday, May 23, 2016, at Heather Hills Rehab & Care Center surrounded by family. The son of Layne Franklin & Lula Mae (George) Babcock, he was born June 17, 1935, in Grand Rapids. Larry had a passion for cars, and was a mechanic for over forty years, he also enjoyed fishing, and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose (Trombley) Babcock; grandson, Larry Michael Babcock; four brothers; and two sisters. Surviving are his children, Larry (Debra) Babcock Jr., Veronica (John) Caldwell, Peggy (Ken) Babcock, and Rose Lamphere; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great granddaughter on the way; and sisters, Elaine (Harry) Huckleberry, and Maudie (Ed) Boogard. Visitation is from 3-4 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Ave. S.E., Grand Rapids, (One block west of Eastern Avenue), where memorial services will also be held at 4:00 p.m and luncheon will follow. 3-4 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016 4:00 p.m and luncheon will follow.
