Larry Edward Ashburn, age 72, passed away peacefully in his Cedar Springs, Michigan home surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, March 3, 2024. He was born October 31, 1951, in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Walter and Maxine (Cunningham) Ashburn Jr.
Larry joined the armed forces and proudly served his country for three years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Lilibeth Luzano in Butuan City, Philippines, 2010.
During Larry’s working years, he traveled the country as a long-distance semi-truck driver for Nichols Paper & Supply, Riders Logistics Corp., and Penske Corporation. He liked listening to piano music, especially Jim Brickman and loved taking family road trips.
Survivors include his wife, Lilibeth; children, Kim, Jeff, and Liz; and multiple grandchildren.
Gathering of family and friends to honor the life of Larry E Ashburn will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. at 36th Street (one block west of Eastern Avenue), Grand Rapids, with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Military Honors will be rendered by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Army. Larry’s body will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
