Lanita Rumney

Lanita J. (Walter) Rumney, age 77 of Byron Center, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at home surrounded by family. The daughter of Lloyd & Geraldine (Price) Walter, she was born November 17, 1938 in Great Bend KS. Lanita retired from being a rural letter carrier after 28 years, and was also the owner of Yankee Peddler Craft. She enjoyed gardening and sewing quilts for her children. Surviving are her children, Mark (Valinda) Dykhuis, Joseph (Nanging) Dykhuis, and Kathrine (Kurt) Headley; six grandchildren, Matthew, Anthony, Stephanie, Kate, David, and Jenna; and her faithful loving companion dog, Molly. In lieu of flowers contributions maybe made to the charity of your choice, or simply plant flowers or a tree in your yard this spring in her memory. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
