Kristin Grusell

On November 20th, 2022, at the young age of 31 our wonderful Kristin Marie Grusell passed on to be with her Lord and Savior. Kristin was a wonderful mother who is survived by her daughter, Zoe Grusell; husband. Zachary Grusell; father and mother, Randall and Mary Madendorp; siblings, Gregory and Janet Madendorp; and her father- and mother-in-law, Michael and Susan Grusell. Kristin was born at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. th She grew up in Whitehall, Michigan and after graduating high school attended Grand Valley State University. It was there that she met Zack, the love of her life. Kristin worked at Heather Hills Retirement home for nine years. It was the perfect position for someone as kind and loving as Kristin. On December 7th, 2019, Kristin and Zachary were married at Clearwater Place in Grand Rapids, attended by so many of their friends and family. They spent time traveling for the next couple of years, spending time in South Africa, Italy, Mexico and all over the United States. Following these travels, Kristin and Zack had their beautiful little girl on March 28th, 2022. Zoe is and will always be the light of our lives. Kristin sacrificed so much to bring her into this world and never wavered in her decisions for Zoe - a testament to how unbelievably amazing she was. Kristin lived a life filled with love and adventure. She glowed with a light unique to her that touched every single person she met. She had a way of changing lives the moment she walked in the door without even knowing she was doing it. Her smile filled a room, and her kindness was constant. There are so many people with wonderful stories of how she touched them, and her presence will always be felt by those that know her best. She will be celebrated on December 11th, from 12-4pm at Clearwater Place (1430 Monroe Ave NW, Grand Rapids, 49505), where Kristin and Zack were married just a few short years ago. We're asking visitors to dress for a celebration of life (no black on this day) and put on the biggest smile they can. It's what Kristin would want.
