Kirk Vetter

Kirk R. Vetter, age 58, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Spectrum Health Hospice and Palliative Care in Grand Rapids after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on February 15, 1962 to Marjorie Jean Vetter and Robert Otto Vetter. On March 24, 1990, he married the former Annette S. Johnson and she survives him. He was a 1980 graduate of Mona Shores High School and Ferris State University in 1989 with a bachelor's of science in project engineering. After graduating college, Kirk worked for Progressive Technologies in Grand Rapids as a project engineer from 1987-1997. In 1997, Kirk founded Clear Kut Waterjet Machining Corp and operated the business from 1997 until the time of his death. Kirk enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycles, cooking, watching Detroit Red Wings hockey and spending many long weekends / holidays with his wife and friends on beautiful Torch Lake near Traverse City. Survivors include his wife Annette; mother-in-law Susan M. Johnson of Norton Shores; sister-inlaw, Karen Wahlberg (Eric) of Norton Shores; five brother's-in-laws, Robert S. Johnson (Dolores) of Rockwall, TX, Cliff W. Johnson of Spring Lake, MI, James Johansen of Spring Lake, MI, Lawrence Johnson (Lauren) of Los Angeles, CA, Jason Johnson (Nia) of Long Beach, CA; and four nephews, Jacob Wahlberg, Sam Wahlberg, Azzie Johnson and Otis Johnson; and niece, Astrid Johnson. He is also survived by his cousin, Susan Federico (Albert) of Grand Haven, MI and their son, Nicholas Federico. Kirk was preceded in death by his mother and father Marjorie and Robert Vetter; father-in-law Clifford Johnson; aunt and uncle, Evelyn and Maurice Brow; and other aunts, uncles and cousins.
