Kimberly Pyles

Kimberly Lynn Pyles, age 63, of Big Rapids, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The daughter of Lawrence Millar Gephart & Florence Ellen (Blackwell) Gephart, she was born on February 8, 1957 in Detroit. She graduated in 1975 from Evart High School. On June 6, 1987, in Big Rapids, she married Darryl Rodney Pyles and together they raised two children and enjoyed almost 33 years of marriage. Kimberly had worked as an office clerk in the Department of Public Safety at Ferris State University. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, reading fiction, cheering on the Detroit Tigers, and watching her children play sports and perform in musicals. By nature she was a very kind and generous person, making sure to give her time and energy to help those in need whenever possible. She cared deeply about people and cultivated many friendships throughout her years working in the public school system and for the university. Surviving are her husband, Darryl Pyles of Big Rapids, their children, Joshua Pyles and his wife, Callie Pyles of Big Rapids, and Katelyn Pyles of Ypsilanti; her sisters, Kathy Doyle of Pinckney, and Karen Gorman, as well as her husband, Eric Gorman of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest sister, Kris Arrington. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Greenville, (616) 754-5638.
