Kevin Yost

Kevin Duane Yost, 58, born May 15th, 1959 in Carson City, went home to Heaven September 1st, 2017. Kev grew up and attended school in Greenville. He was naturally athletic. As a youth he worked on Mackinac Island as a tour guide, then moved on to some interesting jobs that took him through several states. At the age of 31, Kevin sustained horrific burns over much of his body. He was more than just a survivor. He refused to see himself as disabled in any way and pressed on to lead a full and remarkable life. Several years ago Kev moved up north to Luther, where he bought a house. Being a true recycler, he creatively put to good use whatever was passed on to him and completely remodeled his home. His door was always open and the 'welcome' mat was always out. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family & friends, and watching the history channel. He often wintered at the home of mom in Gowen, and her home is where he chose to spend his final earthly days, under her loving care and surrounded by family. Kev was known for always having a good story to tell. He had a multitude of friends from all various places, and all walks of life. They fondly knew him as "KD". Kevin is survived by his mother Helen "Morty" Yost of Gowen, father; Gerald & Jane Yost of Grand Rapids, son; Justin Yost of Gowen, sisters; Karen & Tom Pollock of Greenville, and Jodi Fairchild of Gowen, grandchildren; Madyson and Preston, lifelong friend; Bobbi Foley, and many nieces and nephews. Heaven is truly a sweeter place now. A Celebration of Life service is planned for 11:00 a.m on Tuesday September 12, at Faith Baptist Church, 315 S Greenville W Dr, Greenville, MI 48838, with a luncheon to follow.
