Kenneth Lawrence Bergquist, age 95, formerly of Lansing, Michigan, passed away
peacefully in Wake Forest, North Carolina, on Thursday, October 31, 2024. He was born
May 31, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Frank and Myrtle (Patterson) Bergquist.
Ken graduated from Hartford High School with the class of 1947. He proudly enlisted
and served his country for four years in the United States Air Force from 1951-54. He
married Jacqueline Bernice Nelson on October 26, 1963. They celebrated 28 years of
marriage together before Jackie passed away on December 29, 1991. Ken worked over
40 years in the HVAC industry before retiring.
Survivors include his three children, Ken (Susan) Bergquist, Keith (Annette) Bergquist,
and Kathy (David) Boes; grandchildren, Jennifer Bergquist, Tyler (Allison) Bergquist,
Jessie (Liam) Gallagher, Zachary Bergquist, Sydney (Logan) Ireland, and Jaxin,
Alekzander, Sylas, and Gianna Boes.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie; his parents, and brothers.
Visitation will take place Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Trinity Baptist Church, 2050
Aberdeen St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505, from 10:00 am until the time of funeral
service at 11:30 am with Pastor Don Dewey officiating.
Ken will be laid to rest with his wife, Jackie at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing,
Michigan on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 10:00 am. Military Honors will be rendered
by the United States Air Force.
