Keith Helmer

Keith E. "Hector" Helmer, age 59, of Six Lakes, passed away early Saturday morning, September 10, 2011 at his home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Enos "Bart" & Alemeda E. (Smith) Helmer, he was born on Feb. 19, 1952 near Mecosta. For 32 years he worked in the foundry at Hitachi Magnetics in Edmore. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Joy Helmer of Six Lakes; their children, Brian Helmer and his fianc, Carolyn Terry, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Micquel & Scott Keur of North Carolina, Dustin & Amanda Loomis of Riverdale, Steven Cody Loomis of Six Lakes, and Dayle & Calvin Grandy Jr. of Grand Rapids; his grandchildren, Sabastian Keur, Latavia Grandy, Allexzander Grandy, Hannah Pearson, and Connor Loomis; two sisters and three brothers, Joyce Mayer of Canadian Lakes, Marvin & Chris Helmer of DeWitt, Dan & Linda Helmer of Leesburg, Florida, Ed & Nell Helmer of Cottonwood, Alabama, and Barb & Gale Merrit of Sheridan; and several nieces and nephews. The Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Greenville, was entrusted with the arrangements.
