Mrs. Kay Francis Chase, age 66, of Spencer Township, passed away Monday afternoon, June 22, 2009 at her home under the loving care of her family and Great Lakes Hospice. The daughter of Harold Anthony & Violet Irene (Christian) Quillan, she was born on January 22, 1943 in Belding. On December 4, 1965, in Grand Rapids, she married George D. Chase. An avid golfer and pool player, Kay also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and delighted in making afghans and sweaters for family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister-in-law, Catherine Rippie. Surviving are her husband, George Chase; four sisters and a brother, Shirley & Duane Wood of Wisconsin, Betty & Manuel Rodriguez of Lake Odessa, Michael Quillan, Colleen & Bud McDaniel of Georgia, and Jeanie & Bob Hilliker of Belding; a sister-in-law, Janet Chase of Ionia; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family remembrance will be held. Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of ones choice.
