Kathleen Post

Kathleen A. "Kathy" Post, age 54, of Grand Rapids, passed to her heavenly reward under the care of Hospice of Michigan, on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. The daughter of Harold & Elizabeth (Morrison) Post, she was born July 26, 1960 to Harold and Elizabeth (Morrison) Post, who both preceded her in death. Kathy worked at various jobs in the trucking industry until the onset of leiomyosarcoma cancer to which she succumbed. Kathy was a cat lover and provided a home for several feline friends. She advocated for the "Trap, Neuter and Return" of feral cats and the trap, neutering and placement into forever homes of stray and abandoned cats and kittens. To that effort she did a "Pay It Forward" with Fox 17 Television News and raised funds that went to Carol's Ferals and Friendlies. Survivors include two brothers, Harold (Marilyn) Post of Coopersville, Daniel "Fred" (Dawn) Post of Grand Rapids; a sister, Linda Post of Rossville, Georgia; as well as eight nieces and nephews; and a great-niece, and a great-nephew. Memorial services are at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Ave. S.E. at 36th Street (one block west of Eastern Ave.) and private interment will be at Rosedale Memorial Park.
