It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kathleen Dawn Luna, a vibrant and charismatic soul who will be dearly missed. Kathleen was born in Carson City, MI, USA, on the 10th day of May, 1970, and spent the majority of her life in Riverdale, Michigan. A loving mother, funny friend, and supportive family member, Kathleen touched the hearts of those who knew her with her infectious laughter and her generous, caring spirit.
Kathleen spent her career as a CNA, caring for others in nursing homes. This profession mirrored her nature, as she was always there to lend a helping hand or offer a shoulder to lean on for anyone in need. She loved watching movies, TV, and seizing any opportunity to escape the confines of her home. Kathleen had a knack for bringing joy to every situation, always managing to provoke laughter even on the worst of days. Her wisdom was a beacon to those around her, and her pep talks were legendary. Epictetus once said, "The key is to keep company only with people who uplift you, whose presence calls forth your best." This quote encapsulates Kathleen's essence; she uplifted everyone she met and brought out the best in them.
Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Holly Luna, Jamie Scarberry, and Molly (Douglas) Luna; her granddaughters, Kylie Seely, Amelia Almas, and Nova Almas; her sister, Patti Morse; her nephew, Joseph Morse; her niece, Tasha Luna; her nephew, Justin Luna; and her best friend, Jamie (William) Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathryn Nicewander and Reuben Luna.
Kathleen's life was a testament to the strength of love, the power of laughter, and the beauty of a supportive friend. Her legacy will continue to inspire and shape the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. As we remember Kathleen, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos of her to the memorial page. Every story shared helps keep her memory alive, and we look forward to celebrating Kathleen's life together.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Greenville, 616-754-5638.
