Kathleen Jane Calverley, age 89, of Vestaburg, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 1, 2026. The daughter of Joseph Henry & Kathleen Monica (Farrar) Moore, she was born on June 19, 1936 in South Fork, Pennsylvania.
She graduated from St. Mary’s of Royal Oak, and on December 15, 1954, in Berkley, she married Robert Francis Calverley, and together she and Bob enjoyed over sixty-three years of marriage and raised four children. Kathie was an integral piece to their successful heating and cooling business, and she lived a beautiful life grounded in faith and love.
Outside of her homemaking, she was an administrative assistant at the Edmore Hospital, had been a youth leader, and built many lasting friendships with the Vestaburg Book Club. Above all else, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren were her most prized treasures.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Kathleen Moore; her husband, Bob Calverley; two brothers, Joe Moore and Denny Moore; and son-in-law, Tommy Fox.
Surviving is her sister, Marianne Lange of Coral Springs, Florida; daughter, Kathleen Fox of San Mateo, Florida; three sons, Bob & Mary Beth Calverley of Riverdale, Bill & Tonyia Calverley of Ovid, and Dan & Patti Calverley of Vestaburg; eleven grandchildren, Steven, David & Crystal, Luke & Sammie, Jessi & Jeremy, Nick, Tonisha & Troy, Katie & Eric, Haley & Kyle, Abby & Caleb, Cassie & Eric, and Jack & Julia; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family is from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026 at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 168 E. Wright Avenue, Shepherd, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Burial will take place privately at Richland Township Cemetery, Vestaburg.
Instead of flowers, contributions in memory of Kathie to the Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired would be a more lasting tribute (https://www.abvimi.org/your-help/donate-now/).
