Mrs. Karen Hart-Pringle, age 60, of Greenville, passed away early Thursday morning, Aug. 13, 2009 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids.
The daughter of Norris Leonard & Alice Marie (Kitchen) Jury, she was born on Feb. 22, 1949 in Greenville and was a graduate of Greenville High School.
Following high school, she began a career as a paralegal first working for Duane Carr when he served as prosecuting attorney, then for 17 years for the law firm of Frye, Mullendore, Carr, & Raven, and retired from the office of Montcalm County Clerk Kristen Millard where she worked in the 8th Judicial Circuit Court.
On August 14, 1999, at Brookside Golf Course in Gowen, she married Thomas A. Pringle. A devoted mother, Karen also golfed with the Ladies Wednesday Night League at Brookside, enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, mushrooming, and gambling, and was active in the ladies auxiliary at the American Legion posts in both Greenville and Stanton. She was an avid fan University of Michigan football, as well as Tiger Woods.
She was preceded in death by her father, N. Leonard Jury; a brother, Duane Shotwell; and a granddaughter, Cameron Hart.
Surviving are her mother, Marie Jury of Greenville; her husband, Tom Pringle of Greenville; three sons, Scott Hart of Traverse City, Chad & Lori Jones of Sheridan, and Sean & Victoria Hart of Belding; six precious grandchildren, Alexis Hart, Cody Oberlin, Carter Jones, Brittnee Hart, Kole Hart, and Riley Hart; four brothers and sisters, Clare Shotwell, Caroline Ziegler, Eugene & Vickie Jury, all of Greenville, and Charlene & Scott Feehan of Onio; three sisters-in-law, Janice & Ron Hause of Tucson, Arizona, Mary Jo & Jack Carlson of Vail, Arizona, and Ann Sochor of Stover, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and co-workers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where the family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Pastor Ken Harger of Shiloh Community Church will officiate with burial following at Hillside Cemetery in Entrican.
Instead of flowers, Karen would have appreciated contributions in her memory to either the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Spectrum Health Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
