Julie Beth Spohn, born on July 21, 1957, began her journey to the stars on February 11, 2024. The world was blessed with a loving, creative, and courageous spirit; a woman of immeasurable talents whose light will continue to shine brightly in the memories of those whose lives she touched. She was my mother, my confidante, and my best friend. Our hearts are heavy, but we find comfort in the words of Maya Angelou: "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Julie was a woman of passion and creativity. Her love for crafting was more than a hobby; it was an expression of her vibrant and colorful spirit. Treasure hunting at flea markets, she always found the diamond in the rough, giving new life to forgotten treasures. Her adventurous soul was drawn to the unique culture and vivacity of New Orleans, a city that mirrored her own zest for life. Despite her many talents and passions, what mattered most to Julie were her grandchildren. They were her world, her joy, and her legacy. In the words of Elizabeth Stone, "Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." Julie's heart will continue to walk in the form of her cherished grandchildren.
Julie is survived by her loving children, Tara (Larry) Willmore, Ben (Stacy) Edmonds, and Travis Edmonds; her sister, Jill Tiffany; her mother, Kay Thomas; her adored grandchildren, Brianna, Logan, Samantha, Michael, Kirk, Darrell, Marina, Lynzi, Ronnie, Aerial, Brook, and Logan; and three treasured great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jessie, and Carson.
Julie was welcomed into heaven by her father, Lorraine Train, her brother, Gavin Train, her sister, Allison Sanborn, and her grandson, Dalton Edmonds.
