Julia Meyer

Julia Marie Meyer, age 71, of Comstock Park, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2019. She was born on September 2, 1948, in Grand Rapids to Arnold & Marrietta (Lundy) Diekema Sr. She married John Meyer in March of 1968. He precedes her in death. Julia was a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed movies with her kids and grandkids, music, especially the Gaither Vocal Band, but most of all her Lord, Jesus Christ. She is survived by her children, Shannon (Rose) Diekema, Matthew Meyer, Mark Meyer and Elizabeth (John) Gillette; grandchildren, Patrick, Amanda, Tayler, Ronald, Lera, Jaiden, Rylan, Bartholomew, Jaydin, Logan, Alexas and Parker; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Gabriel; sister, Mary Watson of Bradford, TN; step-sister, Nancy (Vern) Crowner; step-brother, Ray (Shirley) Dryer; cousins, nieces and nephews. Julia is preceded in death by her brother, Arnold "Arnie" Jr. who died while serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Monday, December 23, 2019, at Inspire Church, 18 Garden Ave, Fremont, MI 49412. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday at the church. Refreshments will follow. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
