Judy Shelton

Judy Ann Shelton of Portage, Michigan passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 two days before her 74th birthday. The oldest of two siblings, Judy was born in Zion, Illinois to Roland & Bobbie (Bradford) Shelton. She is survived by her husband, Donald Beach, her brother, Daniel Shelton, and sister-in-law, Kathy Buchanan, her two children, LeighAnna Beach and Lauren Beach, her son-in-law, Patrick Harris, and her two grandchildren, Lucian Harris Beach and Lochlan Harris Beach. As an educator and administrator, Judy touched the lives of many students for the better. She taught English and music across nearly all grades K-12 in Grand Ledge Michigan for over 20 years. Following this, she served as Middle School principal in Paw Paw, Michigan, Curriculum Director of Hastings, Michigan's school district, and Assistant Superintendent in Corunna, Michigan. She was an active contributor to the Experience Plus program at University of Detroit Mercy. A lifelong musician, she was an extremely gifted pianist and widely recognized for her talents.
