Judith Mae Vogel, age 83, formerly of Belding, Michigan, passed away Thursday evening, August 14, 2025 at Corewell Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The daughter of William & Viola (Holliday) Wierenga, she was born on November 29, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
On September 20, 1958, in Grand Rapids, she married Glen Elgin Vogel, Jr. and together they raised four children and enjoyed 63 years of marriage until Glen passed away on March 16, 2022. A devoted wife and mother, Judy also enjoyed painting, horses, and playing BINGO and other board games, but especially delighted in time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Glen Vogel Jr; her son, Randy Vogel in 2012. Parents William & Viola Weirenga; Brothers Bob; Dick; & Jerry Weirenga; and Sisters Lorraine Jansens; & Catherine Vennema
Surviving are her children, Cindy L. Merren of Gowen, Michigan, Ronald A. Vogel of Wyoming, Michigan, and Daniel J. Vogel of Ellsworth, Wisconsin; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry & Pauline Wierenga of Grand Rapids, Michigan; a sister, Ellen Hudson, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; three sisters-in-law, Francis Fein, Josephine Hamilton, and Suzan & Ronald Rozeveld, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Private family remembrances will be held, with burial following at Eureka Township Cemetery near Greenville. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
