Joyce Wildeboer

Joyce Marie (Birdsall) Wildeboer, age 67, of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 7, 2024. She was born December 6, 1956, in Bay City, MI to the late Clare and June Birdsall. Joyce graduated from Bay City Central High School with the class of 1975. She was a caregiver at heart which led her to study at Mercy Central School of Nursing where she received her nursing certificate and then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Western Michigan University. Joyce spent many years working with the developmentally disabled at Thresholds. She continued to use her love and knowledge for nursing up until retirement. Joyce’s loving nature became evermore apparent when she had children. They were the light of her life and not only was she a fantastic mother who raised her two children, but she was a “second mom” to many of their friends and everyone around her. She was a person that others were drawn to because of her caring and loving spirit. Joyce’s life was changed and her heart grew even more when she had grandchildren. She cherished the time she got to spend with them and they will miss her greatly. Joyce enjoyed playing cards with family, taking trips to Northern Michigan and her hometown to visit family. She also looked forward to her monthly meet up with friends for brunch. Joyce is survived by her two children, Peter-John Wildeboer and Katherine (Anthony) Smith; five grandchildren, Elijah, Ava, Anthony Jr., Ari, and Sage; siblings, John Birdsall, Jennifer Montgomery, Matthew Birdsall, and Mark Birdsall; nieces and nephews, Roberta (Eric) Arnold, Brandon (Alison) Birdsall, and Elaina (Travis) Vigil; and many other relatives and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Larry Montgomery. Per her wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date and details will be announced as soon as they become available.
