Joyce Elaine Platt

Joyce Elaine (Haggerty) Platt, age 81, of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025. She was born June 18, 1944, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Richard and Marian (Rosema) Haggerty. Joyce was a graduate of Grandville High School. On June 28, 1968, Joyce married the love of her life, Joseph Arthur Platt in Grand Rapids, MI. She worked over 35 years for Reliance Finishing Company until her retirement in the early 2000's. Joyce enjoyed crafting, going to the casino, and traveling up north. Above all she loved spending time with her family, particularly the annual trip to Mackinaw City where she could explore the quaint little shops in town and on the island.

Survivors include her son, Jim Platt; step-daughter, Cindy Owens; grandchildren, Aidan Platt, Deanna Cavalier, Montana Owens, and Zachary Tiffany; sister, Karen (Bruce) Bigelow; brother-in-law, Jim Platt; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-son, Joe Platt; brother, Ken Haggerty; sister, Jan Binns; sister-in-law, Marian Hunkins; and brothers-in-law, Pat and Charlie McCormick;

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery, 50 Lake Michigan Dr, Walker, MI, 49544.
