Joyce Arlene Edgecombe, age 74, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday at her daughter's home in Greenville. The daughter of Howard Kenneth & Thelma Elizabeth (Hankis) Main, she was born on October 29, 1935 in Greenville. Following her graduation from Greenville High School, Joyce married Robert A. Bob Edgecombe on July 23, 1954 in Greenville. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Joyce was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cleveland-Wolverton Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Greenville, and enjoyed handicrafts especially quilting and knitting afghans. She had attended Greenville Community Church. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Bob Edgecombe; a daughter, Cheryl Keesler; a great grandson, Reese Cornell; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Dann-Garvey and Beverly Knickerbocker; and three brothers-in-law, Edward Edgecombe, Carmen Bean, and Forest Furhman. Surviving are two daughters and four sons-in-law, Tammy & Tom Bentley of Morley, Kathy & Glen Voorhees of Greenville, Donald Keesler, and his wife Linda, of Harrisville, and Larry Walker of Greenville; a sister, Yvonne Bean of Stanwood; two sisters-in-law, Leontine Fuhrman and Zelma Edgecombe; a brother-in-law, Bernard Knickerbocker; a special life long friend, Elva Kelly of Greenville; her grandchildren, Jason & Karen Keesler, Robert & Brandie Keesler, Kaitlyn Keesler, Angela & Matt Stilson, Michael & Susan Cornell, Charles & Cindy Cornell, Melissa & Wyatt Clark, William Bentley, James Vorhees, Phillip & Kristine Voorhees, Brenda & Jeffrey Clark, Jessica Walker, Justin Voorhees, Dale Voorhees, Michael Voorhees, Angeleak Adams, and Chandler Kosla; and thirteen great grandchildren with the fourteenth due next month; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 12-1 p.m. Instead of flowers, Joyce would have appreciated memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.
