Joyce Bolt

Joyce Elaine (Houseman) Bolt, age 88, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, October 26, 2020. She was born February 22, 1932, in Grand Rapids, to the late Clarence "Nick" and Bertha (Goeree) Houseman. Joyce married the love of her life Franklin Bolt on March 26, 1965. They celebrated 54 years of marriage together before Frank passed away on January 29, 2020. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her early years she worked as a nurse's aide at a nursing home before she went to Dekker Bookbinders where she met her Frank. Joyce stayed home to raise her and Frank's three sons and she volunteered at Burton Heights CRC. Joyce babysat for many children over the years and loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her three sons, William Bolt, Robert (Lea) Bolt, and Ron (Peggy O'Neill) Bolt; grandchildren, Mason Bolt, Denee O'Neill, Nicholas (Brittney) Bolt, Nicole (Mike) Gebben, Autumn O'Neill Bolt and Sierra O'Neill Bolt; and great-grandchildren, Seth, Austyn, Kinsley, Franklin and Theodore. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; and sister, Betty Houseman. Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. at 36th Street (one block west of Eastern Avenue), Grand Rapids, where funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.
