Joy Anne Parker, age 89, of Belding, passed away on December 29, 2020 at Mission Point of Greenville with her family by her side. The daughter of Harris J. & Jean M. (Philpott) Merrill, she was born on September 21, 1931 in Mt. Morris. Joy worked as a dietitian at Metron of Belding and retired after 18 years. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church, loved to sew, read, and cook, was an avid card player and would play any game with anybody. For many years, she was a Foster Grandparent at Woodview Elementary School in Belding, where she shared her time and happy spirit with the kids and staff alike. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Mable Perry, Judy Seeley, and Lola Earle. Surviving are her eight children, Richard & Delynn Parker, Mary Blatt, Linda Carter, Christine & Lyle Daggett, Thomas & Roxanne Parker, William & Sharon Parker, Marjorie Hatfield, and Elaine & Randy Hendershot; twenty-nine grandchildren; numerous special great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sister, Margaret Sims; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Graveside committal services will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Belding, and will be announced in the spring.
