Jovita Ortiz

Jovita Marie Ortiz, age 82, of Greenville, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 11, 2011 at Spectrum Health-United Hospital in Greenville. The daughter of Paul & Maria Cornego, she was born on December 29, 1928 in Perrinton. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jesus Ortiz on November 11, 1980. Surviving are her eight children, John & Alice Ortiz of Belding, Margaret Judy Davis of Greenville, Rocki & Jim Harris of Greenville, Joseph & Laura Ortiz of Ionia, Jesse Ortiz of Grand Rapids, Dick Ortiz of Greenville, JoAnne & Eddie Abbott of Baldwin, and Dennis Ortiz of Greenville; twenty-five grandchildren; and many, many great grandchildren. Visitation is from 5-6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. The Rev. Father Michael F. Cilibraise, pastor of St. Charles Catholic Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery. Instead of flowers, relatives and friends are asked to consider the wishes of the family. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
