Josephine Olund

Josephine Olund, age 91, of Grandville, MI passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 29, 2015. The daughter of Max & Mary (Woychak) Malinowski, she was born June 4, 1924 in Superior, WI. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 30 years, Hugo Olund; sister, Marcella Davis; and brother, Clarence Malinoski. She will be remembered by her sons, Timothy, Thomas (Barbara), David, and James (Jeanine); grandchildren, Megan, Adrienne, Christopher, and Anthony; and many nieces and nephews. Josephine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed raising her sons and spending time with her family. She was also an active community volunteer for her church, schools, and a local nursing home. Her life-long passion for travel and excitement was fulfilled during memorable trips to the Caribbean and Mexico. She will be dearly missed. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 4, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Avenue SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation one hour prior. Josephine's final resting place will be at Resurrection Cemetery, where the family will have a private burial. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on her behalf.
