Joseph J. Pelish, Jr. age 70, of Stanton, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Joseph & Mary (Keeler) Pelish, he was born on April 28, 1953 in Saginaw. On April 11, 2003, Stanton, he married Frances Chism, who survives.
Joseph worked at Electrolux, and after the Greenville Electrolux plant closed he worked at Grand Haven Tech, and BMW in South Carolina. He enjoyed being a DJ for 40 years, was a member of the Stanton American Legion for 40 years, smoking all kinds of concoctions that he made up, and having people sample his experiments, being in BBQ contests, mowing grass at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, collecting antique toys, his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, son and step-father. Surviving are his wife, Fran Pelish; two daughters, Jessica Joswick & Jason and Jennifer Nyberg & Carl; two sisters, Barb & Max Sheaffer, Pam & Steve Jenks; two step-children, Trevor Merren and Traci & Jeremy Lawrence; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and grand nephews, step-nieces and nephews and step-grand nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law; his trusty dog, and faithful companion, Lucky; and many dear friends, including his "partner in crime," Ed Senn.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help with funeral expenses are appreciated.
