Joseph Helms

Joseph Henry Helms, age 73, was called home to our Lord and Savior on Friday, August 15, 2014, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at home and was surrounded by family. Joe was a jokester who loved to make people laugh and cared deeply for his family. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 37 years, Christine Helms; children Debra Neal, Desiree Baer, Hank Helms, Kathy Helms, Laura Helms, Joe and Eme Helms, Buster and Nichole Helms; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Sunset Park Church of God located at 3450 Michael Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509. Church doors will open at 10:30am for a time to visit with family before the service begins at 11:00am. Please consider a memorial contribution in Joe's name to Spectrum Health Hospice or Sunset Park Church of God. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place.
