Joseph "J.T." Timothy Hammond, age 29, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin, boyfriend, and a friend to many. J.T. was the son of Hilory Jr. & Debra Jo (Smith) Hammond, he was born on May 16, 1988 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. eloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin, boyfriend, and a friend to many. J.T. was t J.T. had a brilliant mind, a beautiful heart, and an intrepid spirit. He had a thirst for knowledge and a passion for technology. J.T. was awarded Eagle Scout in 2004, and was a member of the Sons of the Legion. He graduated from Fountain Central High School and attended college at Davenport University. J.T. was a resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan and worked for AB Lock & Safe in Wyoming, Michigan.He enjoyed rock climbing, hiking, paintballing, working on his prized Subaru, and the company of his friends and family. J.T. was a long time Dungeon Master campaigning for his D&D friends and enjoyed playing a variety of video and other board games. J.T. had a brilliant mind, a beautiful heart, and an intrepid spirit. He is preceded in passing by his paternal grandparents, Hilory Sr. & Jane Hammond/Jewel & Larry Long; maternal grandmother, Mary Jo Smith; and his girlfriend's mother, Karlene Kemme. Surviving are his parents, Butch and Deb (Smith) Hammond; brother, Josh Reynolds; sister, Megann Miller; girlfriend & caregiver, Christine Kemme; maternal grandfather, Herman Smith; nephew, Wyatt Miller; and niece, Hannah Reynolds; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. J.T.'s kindness, spontaneity, sense of humor, and long discussions will be missed and honored by many. An informal attire Celebration of J.T.'s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Stockwell Methodist Church, 6941 Church St., Stockwell, IN. Burial will follow at Yorktown Cemetery, Stockwell, IN. An imitation of a Viking funeral will be held at Butch and Deb's later that evening.
