Joseph Dowe

Mr. Joseph Donald Dowe, age 66, of Cadillac, formerly of Six Lakes, passed away early Sunday morning, May 27, 2007 at Mercy Hospital-Cadillac. The son of Clarence & Flora (Finly) Dowe, he was born on Nov. 1, 1940 in Negaunee in Michigans Upper Pennisula. He had worked as a restaurant cook and attended Jesus Non-Denominational Church in Greenville, as well as All Nations Church in Cadillac. On Sept. 20, 1969, in White Cloud, he married the former Clara M. Towne. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald J. Dowe in 1990; and a daughter, Dawn May Dowe in 1999. Surviving are his wife, Clara M. Dowe of Cadillac; two sisters, Elizabeth Dowe of Marquette and Dorothy Dowe of Grand Rapids; four brothers, William & Bonnie Dowe of Ishpeming, Jerry Dowe of Florida, Charles & Pat Dowe of Oklahoma, and Richard Dowe; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the Jesus Non-Denominational Church, 9206 W. Peck Road off of M-91, Greenville, with Pastor Tommy Turner officiating. Burial will take place privately at Hillcrest Cemetery, Six Lakes. Visitation is Thursday from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m. at the church, where envelopes for memorial contributions to assist with Joes final expenses will be available.
