Joseph Edward Barney, age 58, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek. The son of Edward & Verna Barney, he was born on October 15, 1952 in Battle Creek and had worked as a union pump builder. Surviving is his fiancee, Debbie Kilpatrick, also of Battle Creek. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements were entrusted to the Michigan Cremation Company, Grand Rapids.
