John Zagorjan

Mr. John Zagorjan, age 84, of Glenwood, passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 4, 2009 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. The son of Frank & Ursula (Cerin) Zagorjan, he was born on June 20, 1924 in Cherry, Illinois and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Following the war, John returned to the family farm in the Dowagiac area and spent the rest of his life working as a dairy and cash crop farmer. He will be remembered for the way he meticulously cared for his farm and livestock. He is survived by a niece and four nephews. Honoring John's wishes, no formal services will be held and burial took place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at Fort Custer National Cemetery near Battle Creek.
