John Steggles

John "Jack" Thomas Steggles of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away at age 93, on September 29, 2021. He was born on September 9, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan. He retired from Ford Motor Company where he worked as an engineer for 40 years. He also served in the United States Marine Corps during WW2. Jack came to Grand Rapids from Bradenton, Florida where he settled after retiring. He was a Mason and a Shriner, in addition to being an avid golfer. He was also a member and board member of Sara Bay Country Club in Bradenton, Fl. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth; 3 sons, Mike and Carol of Ada, John and Debbie of Grand Haven, and Jeff and Debbie of Torch Lake; daughter-in-law, Kim Moerschell of Clinton Township; sisters, Helen Miles of Howell and Barb Wohlfeil of Jenison; 7 grandchildren, Lauren (Justin), Shawn (Ashley), Allison (Quintin), Samantha, Zac, Jacob and Madison; and 2 great-grandchildren, Brayden and Beckham. Jack also had a fourth son, Mark, who passed away in 2003 at the age of 49. A memorial service will be held on October 22nd at Porter Hills Village, 3600 Fulton St. E. Grand Rapids, Michigan 49546, at 11:30 a.m. The service will take place at the Meeting House located on the west end of the property.
