John Michael “Mike” Rogers, Sr., age 80, of St. Johns, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Born on August 30, 1946, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he was the son of Thomas Deal and Mary Corby (Walker) Rogers.

Mike was a proud veteran serving in Germany during the Vietnam War era. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and obtained the rank of Specialist Four (SP4). He carried that pride and dedication with him throughout his life.

A natural-born salesman, Mike spent much of his career with the A. Rifkin Company. He had a gift for talking with people, making connections, and leaving an impression wherever he went.  

But beyond his career, Mike was simply Dad.

He was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and so many other things to the people who loved him. He enjoyed the simple things that made life special—golfing, fishing, boating, playing pool and camping—he cherished the time spent making memories with the people around him. He was involved with the Boy Scouts, VFW, and Lions Club, giving his time and friendship to the communities that meant so much to him.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mary Rogers.

He leaves behind his children Erin Michele Rogers of Brighton and John Michael Rogers, Jr. (wife Aimee) of Laingsburg; his grandchildren, Sadie Nunn (husband Eric) Zachary Rogers (significant other Madison Taylor) and Andrew Molnar; and his great-granddaughter, June “Bug” Nunn, who brought an especially precious light into his life.

He also leaves behind his brother Thomas Rogers, (wife Emily) and nephews Samuel Rogers and Thomas Rogers.

His family will carry his memory forward—in the stories / jokes he would tell, the lessons he taught, the laughter they shared, and in all the little things that will remind them of him.

A father may leave this world, but he never truly leaves the hearts of his children.

Dad, we love you. We will miss you more than words can ever say. Thank you for the memories, the love, the laughter, and for being our dad. Until we meet again.
