John Edward Kenny, age 64, of Belding, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Spectrum Health-United Hospital in Greenville. The son of Robert & Delores (Parks) Kenny, he was born on September 11, 1957 in Greenville.
After graduating from Belding High School, he worked at Robroy Industries, then as a supervisor at Michigan Wire, and most recently with the Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball organization.
An avid Michigan State University Spartans fan, he was also a life-long booster of Belding High School football and was an accomplished tournament pool player, and had been a lifetime member of the Belding VFW Auxiliary, serving as their bingo chairman.
On July 10, 2021, in Cedar Springs, he married his life partner of the past eight years, Catherine Rose Hicks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Guy Kenny and David Kenny; and two sisters, Kathy Kenny and Nancy Rice.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine Hicks of Belding; a daughter, Keeley Kenny; a son, John E. & Emily Kenny, Jr.; a grandson, Ezra Kenny; a brother, Ron & Sharee Kenny of Turk Lake; two step-sons, Mike Hicks and Jeremy Hicks; four step-grandchildren, Alyssa, Taylor, Monique, and Makayla; siblings-in-law, Jack & Bonnie Hicks of Greenville, Robert Hicks of Carson City, Scott & Karen Hicks of Belding, and Rick Hicks of Gowen; and many nieces and nephews.
