John Granicz

John Granicz, age 87, of Howard City, Michigan, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, January 17, 2025. He was born July 26, 1937, in Szentes, Hungary, to the late Frank and Rose Granicz. John moved to California when he was 18 and worked in a shipyard where he learned the art of welding. He later moved to Michigan where he continued his welding career at American Steel Line for over 25 years until his retirement in 1998. John loved the outdoors and if you went to visit him you would most likely find him sitting out in the sunshine. He enjoyed playing the lottery and above all else he loved having family gatherings and getting together with those he loved most. Survivors include his three daughters, Christina Guerrero, Carol (Julian) Arellano, and Elizabeth (Jesus) Chavira; 13 grandchildren, Michael, Anjalena, Erika, Abigail, Alexis, Julian Jr., Carlos, Alyvia, Beselia, Jessenia, Aydrien, Pricila, and Jesus Jr.; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Corewell Health Hospice and Blodgett Hospital for the help, care, and compassion they showed John and their entire family throughout this difficult time.
