John David

May 15, 1962 — June 17, 2017

John Bruce David II, age 55, of Greenville, passed away at home on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from injuries received in an accidental fall. The son of Sue (Reed) & John Bruce David I, he was born on May 15, 1962 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A 1980 graduate of Central Montcalm High School, he attended Montcalm Community College and Grand Rapids Junior College, and was employed at Electrolux in Greenville for more than 26 years. John enjoyed a good story and a great laugh. He loved anything with speed - cars, motorcycles, bicycles and boats, many of which he raced. He also enjoyed fitness, reading, playing pool, playing the harmonica and guitar, weightlifting and listening to music, especially albums on old school stereo equipment. He liked to examine the finer points of a situation and was willing to discuss nearly anything with those around him. He was a lover of dogs: he sailed and fished, was an avid Red Wings fan and an often disappointed Detroit Lions fan. He liked to spend time outdoors with family and friends, often by the grill and usually near a lake. He was preceded in death by his father, John David; and his beloved grandmother, Irma (David) Hansen. Surviving are his mother, Sue David, of Stanton; a sister and brother-in-law, Jacki & Blake Miller of Detroit; nephew, Blake (Naomi) Miller and family of Kentwood; nephew, Evan Miller and children of Haslett; and niece Kelli (Luis Pilar) Miller and family of Lansing; and his beloved dog, Lila. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends. He was kind, witty and often willing to help out in most any situation. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
