John William Cinka, aged 72, passed away at home under the loving care of his family and hospice, on Sunday, April 3, 2022. He was born on April 18, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan.
John always said, "If I'm gone...I've gone fishing!".
He won The Willy Heston Memorial Fishing Contest in 1964 at age 14.
John enlisted in the Army in 1966 at age 17. During his time in Vietnam he earned two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.
He was a boat builder, wood worker, artist, and fisherman!
John's best friend, Mike Brocker, went to Heaven seven weeks before, to stake out the best fishing holes.
He leaves behind his fiance, Tami, and her family; his sons, Jonathan and Christopher; his best buddies "Ka-Bob" and "Tyrone", and many friends around the world.
